Alden looked at the glowing window in front of him. The 'Yes' button never looked any more appealing to him than this moment.

"What the heck is Supreme Ability?" He whispered in frustration, "I didn't read anything about this in that damn novel."

There was no mention of "Supreme Ability" anywhere in the novel. But the system clearly showed that his abilities can be merged to create one.

He didn't know if it was unique to him or if there were others with this kind of ability.

"To gain something you have to gamble sometimes," he muttered, pressing the 'YES' button.

Alden looked at the new notification as he understood it was going to take 7 days for his supreme ability to awaken.

"Status," Alden whispered in a quiet voice eager to see changes in it.

Alden scanned his status, noticing his missing Spirit Eyes. Alden felt a pang of guilt in his heart as he thought about 'Ellara.'.

Spirit Eyes, after all, was a gift from her.

"But I know she wouldn't want me to be held back because of her…" he spoke with resolve as he touched the Spirit Pearl within his pocket.

The Spirit Pearl was in his pocket all this time while he was undergoing awakening, not being transported to trial with him…

He felt a familiar warmth of Spirit Pearl as he didn't hesitate anymore.

Alden soon spotted some other new changes in his status.

He first looked at the title section as he saw two titles.

He knew about titles; they were a kind of achievement and could only be earned in the Awakening Trial, at least according to the novel.

He focused on his titles as a new window popped in front of him showing information and the effect of the titles he had.

"Those look useful," Alden mused, nodding thoughtfully as he saw the effect of the titles.

The first title was practical, but the second was even better than the first one as it gave resistance to Chaos.

Chaos was the energy present in monsters. Every other species used mana, including demons, but monsters were different as they used the Chaos Element.

Nobody knows where the monsters popped out of, and most thought this had something to do with demons.

But Alden knew this was not the work of demons, as he read in the novel that even the Demon King had no idea about the origin of monsters.

"Well, it's not like that has anything to do with me," he spoke casually as he turned his focus towards other changes.

"It seems that all that pain finally paid off," he said in an overly dramatic tone with an amused smile as he looked at his increased endurance stat.

After acting all dramatically for a while, Alden finally focused on the most important change, 'Soulbound Weapon.'

He knew what Soulbound Weapons were. As their name suggested, they were weapons bound to the soul of the user, which grows stronger with the user.

They were even more sought after than ancient rank artefacts, as they could grow limitlessly with their users. There were only 10 or so Soulbound Weapons mentioned in the novel.

"It seems I'm not that unlucky after all," Alden muttered sarcastically before focusing his mind.

He felt a lone sword floating peacefully inside his mana core. These kinds of weapons are usually stored there to be enriched in users' mana.

He quickly willed for it to appear as the familiar sword appeared in his hand instantly.

"It's beautiful." He spoke, marvelling at the sword, which was just as beautiful as before.

"So this is what they meant,huh?" he murmured, thinking of the novels he read in his previous life where protagonists used to admire the beauty of their weapons.

He felt that was absurd back then, but he now understood as he could now relate to them. He didn't know how to explain it, but the sword felt that beautiful to him, perhaps due to being soulbound.

He felt a strong connection with the sword as if the sword was part of him.

Soon a window showing detailed information on the sword popped in front of him.

"Is the status window glitched or something?" Alden whispered as no matter how many times he saw it, the description remained unreadable. He could see something written there, but he couldn't comprehend what was written.

He dismissed it as he was more interested in the effects rather than description anyways.

He poured some mana inside the sword, willing it to transform into a dagger. It didn't even take a second before a sharp curved dagger appeared in his hands.

Alden then tested it by changing the colour and shape of the dagger as the transformation followed his will.

Alden stopped channelling mana after testing to his heart's content as the dagger reverted back to a sword.

"It seems the base form is a sword," Alden muttered as he calculated his mana expenditure. "And the mana expenditure is pretty low."

"This effect is dope as f…" Just as he was in the process of admiring the sword again, the door to the room opened, interrupting him.

Alice entered the room; her hurried steps combined with the concern etched on her face showed the urgency of the situation. He had never seen such strong emotions on her face before.

"Young Master Alden…." Her voice trembled, as if to show the weight of the news she was about to relay.
